Understanding Psalm 23
The Lord is my Shepherd,
I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down
in green pastures,
He leadeth me beside still waters,
He restoreth my soul.
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
Even though I walk through the valley
of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil.
For Thou art with me
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me
In the presence of my enemies.
Thou anoinest my head with oil
my cup runneth over.
Surely, goodness and mercy
shall follow me all the days of my life.
And, I will dwell in the house of the Lord
Forever and ever,
Amen.
The Lord is my guide and protector,
My wants are met.
He leads me to rest
in a place of fertility and good results.
Through dead or stuck circumstances, He guides me.
He rebuilds my broken heart.
Because of who He is
He takes me through life situations where I have to do right.
And, if in the pursuit of my purpose I have to go through low places
where people and purpose don’t survive,
I will be absolutely confident.
Because my Protector is with me.
The mind of Christ and the Angels cheer me on.
He provides for me
though my enemies be present.
He selects me,
And everyone can see the evidence of His selection.
For a fact, good tidings, and favor in the sight of my accusers
will be present with me every day of my life.
And, I shall be present in the Church,
Now and always,
So shall it be.
