Poem: The Long Road.

I spend my days,
Journeying through,
Wandering through,
Pines, trees, your mud
With no definite knowledge
nor confirmation
Of whence I head
With no sight
of where I began
Dead leafs, squeaking animals, droplets of rain,
The shade of light
through these unending trees,
I see not from whence their root begin
Neither can I see the top of them
But these trees,
your trees,
enormous in size,
Un-harmful, still, quiet yet fearful.
Your trees humble me,
Therefore,
I focus,
solely,
on your twisting paths before me.
The long road,
My only companion.
I dodge your spikes,
Remove your webs,
Avoid your ant hills
As I launch further into your unknown
Determined to make my way
through this passage of inconvenience
Seeking better, seeking mine, seeking destiny.
You’re the journey between me and that which I’m to seek
Though your path is clear,
I’m determined to not get lost within you

For that would be the end of me.
