Poem: To Show And Be Love. 4

I trust easy, fools never learn
I get fooled easy, trust never earned
Bruises I carry with me
From those I once allowed close to me
But Joy I also have in me
Of the others I allowed close to me
I live as though today is magical
I love as though you were magical
My heart will I share with you
Should you be loving, more of me will I open to you
Should you not be worthy, all of me I will remove from you
For I love as though you were lovable
And I see each day as though it were enjoyable.
Many more people will I meet
So, many more ways might I hurt
While hurt might be thorns on this path
Joy, compassion and friendship,
Are also found on this path of human love
The beauty of life won’t be lost on me.
For determined I am to enjoy this life,
Unrestricted by the possibility of hurt,
Freed by my heart’s dedication to show and be love.
And to fulfill this dedication, trust I must
