Poem: Thoughts Go Back.

If you wrote a poem,
on this lovely evening,
what would it be about?
the beauty of life, maybe
or the all familiar void?
Would you write about love
or maybe you’d write about being tough
Would you write about her?
Not that her, the other her
the girl you keep thinking about,
Would you write about
why you won’t reach out to her?
or maybe you’d write about
why your thoughts go back to her.
It’s been long since you’ve seen her
she probably thinks you’ve moved on.
It’s been long since you’ve kissed her
she probably already moved on.

If you wrote a poem
as you stretched out your legs,
lounging comfortably
what would you write about?
of all the joys of life
or of the consuming void?
Would you lie? make one cry?
Talk wisdom? or try your best to be shallow?
In a sea of endless possibilities,
what would you gift the world?
would you expose something personal
or would you keep it external?
write thought provoking
or write a comedic trilogy?
whatever you do write about,
as you stare at this screen
with no thoughts and no ideas,
All I ask, is that you write something.
