Poem: Left in Wonder.

Oh wind,
Sweet, lovely wind
How gracious are your thrills towards me
Blow through my hair
Ease the knots and tensions
Built up inside this head

Sun, oh sun,
Darling sun,
Rugged at its own pleasure
Warm this body of mine,
This always striving, slow to rise, slow to lay down
body of mine.

Ducks, geese and frogs,
Oh darling creatures here to do their dance,
Sing those tunes you do
Splash the water so spectacular like you do,
Play the game with me where you come towards me
as though you’re coming for me only to redirect seconds before you reach me

Serenity, my darling ever so soft and calm
Flow across this lake
Send unending peace throughout my soul
Erase my thoughts, leave me blank
As I sit here, void of concerns
Empty of cares yet full with all I desire.

Day, oh lovely day
How sweet thou are, the gift of day
How fortunate I are to experience your lovely way
When another said to me they must now go bury their loved one
It dawned on me just how lucky I am to be here
Experiencing today

Breathe, oh breathe of mine,
How so many times I take you for granted
So many times I’m left in wonder
What could I have ever done to deserve you
Your ever present, never exhausted fresh breath of mine
I run, I push, I climb, I fall, I hurt, I sprint, yet you’re always there for me

It takes nothing to acknowledge all I take for granted
It means everything to be awaken to all I’m taking for granted
My arms move, my feet strides, my ears feel, my nose runs
My bum seats, my back holds, my eyes cry, my mind thinks.
Complete I feel today, not of that which I lack
But from that which I’m blessed.

So I say thank you
To all that is available to me,
From the darling sand, to the sizzling bird poop,
From the buzzing bee to the rainy showers
From the mud on my new shoes to the flower blooming
From the little fishes racing in front of me, to the leaves falling off their tree.

Grateful I am for all the elements around me
Beauties I took no part in grooming
Yet they surround me to add beauty to my days
And for that I am grateful
Full of joy for the gift of life.
Forever satisfied by the opportunity to enjoy these gifts of life.
