Poem: Imagined Different.

If I could be free,
Away with the shackles,
unfamiliar with limitations
How would one recognize danger?

If I could be. . .sweet
Without bitterness,
Unaware of sorrow
Where would the balance lie?

If I could be joyful,
Playful at the drop of a hat
Without memory of otherwise
How would appreciation be learned?

If I could be seen,
Admired, debated, constant
At the centre of the town’s square
Won’t all I am be sacrificed for the entertainment of another?

If I could be always driven
Bubbling with potentials
Beaming with possibilities
Won’t one reach a point where they wished away the potential?

If all one could be were merely
matters of their imagination
What then would be said
if one were to be otherwise?
