Poem: Earth Rotates Inside of You.

where does joy go, when pain resides?
where does hope dwell, when doubt arrives?
how does one carry on, when another deflates?
how does one walk in the dark, while under the sun?
how can one be present yet miles away?
we seldom allow, for things to grow
for the reassurance of growth
we, impatiently interrupt, the process of growth
the constant need for reassurance
brings about constant need for interruption
our need then prevents, our continuous growth
growth requires a certain — blindness
growth requires a gap in — knowledge
but we would rather die than go blind
we would rather lie than not know
determined we are, to know everything
determined we are, to watch seed become a tree
but growth requires a certain, blindness
growth requires a gap in, knowledge
we’d rather poke the bear, just to say, “it’s a bear!”
jump in the lake just to confirm “this is water!”
if one who’s healthy
allows in the sickness of the unhealthy
was either of them ever, healthy?
therefore, tell me,
how easy is it for another to ruin your day?
